Finding your laptop information is useful to increase your productivity by using all its unique features or at least you have a command on your PC.
Here I’m going to list all possible ways to find what laptop you have in front of you, including brand, model, and specs.
This information is the same and useful for all Windows PC users irrespective of its OS.
Alright, let’s start with finding a laptop brand.
How to Find Your Laptop Brand?
The Laptop’s manufacturer name is nothing but its brand. Some of the popular laptop brands are Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, ASUS, MSI, Microsoft, and of course Apple.
The following information is useful for all the above brands except Apple.
By Pressing the Laptop Power Button
When you open your laptop’s lid, you will find a good keyboard and smooth trackpad. Along with them, you notice that there is a power button.
Just press the power button and see what’s the first thing your laptop will show. Of course, it’s the manufacturer name of the logo like Dell, HP, or something else.
By this, you’ll find your laptop’s brand.
At the bottom of the Laptop Screen
At the bottom of your laptop screen, there is a name or logo. It is nothing but your laptop’s brand.
Some laptops don’t have it because of the design or screen optimization by the manufacturer.
Not have? No problem, go to the next step.
On the Laptop Package or Covering
The laptop package, covering, or case, no matter what you call it, the meaning is the same – it is the protected case pack from the manufacturer.
The good thing is you can find your laptop’s brand name here. Along with that, you’ll also find the model number and some highlight specs.
The system Information Page Has the Laptop’s Brand Name
Now this thing is for Windows users. Just type ‘system information’ at the Windows search bar and press Enter.
Immediately a new app will open by showing all your laptop information which includes brand name, model, and specs.
The system information page will look like this.
At the Top of Your Laptop
Just open your laptop from the bag and look at it.
What you have seen is its brand. It is like Dell, HP, Acer, ASUS, Samsung, etc.
This is the most common thing for all laptops. So definitely you’ll find a name on your PC unless it was covered by some funky stickers.
How to Find the Laptop Model?
The laptop’s model is important to find its information or specs. Because you can’t find your laptop specs only with the brand name.
The laptop manufacturers are releasing a bunch of laptops every year. And some of them look similar but they can’t.
Unlike the brand, the laptop’s model number is unique for every laptop. So you can pick the right one and get the right information.
Below are the listed ways to find what model laptop you have.
Flip Your Closed Laptop to Find it’s Model
At the bottom of your laptop, you’ll find the product information which includes brand name, model number, and some basic specs.
At the bottom of a laptop, this is what the information looks like.
The System Information in Windows Has a Laptop Model
I have already discussed this option. With all the other information, you can also find the model number of your laptop in the system information app.
Quick access to system information – type ‘system information’ + Enter = You will see your laptop brand and model on the laptop’s screen.
On the Product Packing or Covering
I’m sure there must be the brand name and the model number on the product packaging for every laptop.
Here is my laptop’s cover with the required information on it.
Use Third-Party Software
I’m afraid in this section because not all software apps will provide enough information to us.
For example, the CPU Z app gives information about the CPUS and the operating temperatures of your PC.
The Belarc Advisor is a good one actually to give the most of your laptop’s information then and there.

Go With the Manual in case You Have
Either it is a new laptop or an old one. It is good to keep a manual book with you. It has all your laptop’s information like motherboard, CPU, GPU, Screen size and resolution, and more.
If you have your laptop’s manual, go with it.
Ways to Find a Laptop Specs
You need to know your laptop specs for better usage. For example, if your laptop has a good graphics card, you can play games in your free time. A good resolution screen will be useful to watch videos in HD, UHD, and 4K.
Like this, finding system information on your laptop is useful for now and then.
Let’s find the complete possible ways to find your laptop specs.
Just Google Search Your Laptop Brand and Model for Product Details
From the above two methods, you’ll find what brand and model laptop you have. Now you need to search it on Google or your preferred search engine like this ‘Laptop’s brand + model’.
In 90% of cases, the displayed results are products (your laptop from e-commerce stores like Amazon, Walmart, Flipkart, etc.)
You can click on any of the products from the search results. The e-commerce website will show you the system information of your laptop like battery power, CPU, GPU, Screen, etc.
Go With the Manual Either Physical or Digital
I said that the manual comes from the laptop’s manufacturer. It has all the laptop’s information.
Do you have a physical manual? Good, go with it.
Just in case you don’t have a physical manual, you need to download it from the internet.
For that just search like this on your browser ‘laptop brand + model + manual’, then the search results will show the manufacturer’s website where you can download your laptop’s manual.
After downloading, you can find all your laptop information in that pdf which includes brand, model, and all other specs.

Here are some of them.
Besides the Laptop’s Trackpad
On some laptops, besides the trackpad, there is some system information like the processor, GPU, battery life, or some other highlight features.
Have a look at your laptop, and find out about your system if you found something there.
On the Product Packing
I’m mentioning this section again and again because it has all the basic information that we need like brand, model, and some basic or highlight spaces about the system.
Look at all four sides of the product packing, and you’ll find the system information.
In the Windows Settings
In the Windows settings, you’ll find a lot about your system like whether your PC has Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, the laptop’s screen resolution, etc.
